To obtain approval from the Federal Railway Authority, the Supporting Structures and Noise Abatement division of MFPA Leipzig GmbH carried out a dynamic bending test using an exemplary element of a noise protection wall. The test piece was a reinforced concrete noise protection element with an observer shell, as is used by Deutsche Bahn.

The goal of the test set-up was to simulate the passing of 5 million trains at a speed of 250 km/h, in order to recreate the wind pressure and suction that give rise to alternating dynamic stresses.
