The Centre for Innovation and Calculation is your point of contact for constitutive modelling, structural calculations, e.g. using the finite elements method, simulations, as well as for development planning and implementation of new products or methods, for multi-disciplinary coordination of solutions for complex technical issues, and for realising industrial research projects and cooperative joint research with universities and higher education institutions at and with MFPA Leipzig GmbH.

Our working groups

The option to combine numerical methods and/or engineering models with the experimental testing possibilities of the other divisions of MFPA Leipzig GmbH allows for the best possible assessment of support structures with regard to the tasks demanded of them.

We will assess all structural and static requirements for you that apply for a new or existing support structure. The results are reliable statements about the structure’s load-bearing behaviour and capacity, as well as about its fitness for use and cost effectiveness.

  • Calculations of temperature distribution in the event of fire and fire protection design of components and special structures
The FE models used are validated according to the NAD to DIN EN 1991-1-2, attachment cc, and are suitable for structural fire protection documentation.
  • General non-linear structural calculations
The finite element method (FEM) is a calculation method that is used across the entire field of engineering to numerically simulate the behaviour of solid bodies such as architectural structures, vehicles or tools.

We can turn your ideas into a practice-oriented, market-ready product or system. We will also help you to develop new products or optimise existing ones. With involvement of the other business divisions, we are able to support you along the whole journey from the initial idea through to obtaining certificates of usability (e.g. ZiE, abZ). We are your one-stop service provider.

  • Expert assessment
We can verify equivalence to standard designs or the advantage compared to traditional structures for you. The characteristics of the assessed structures are presented and appraised based on numerical calculations and experimental testing.
  • Development of calculation approaches and verification concepts
Do you have a new product or are you expanding the range of applications? Are you looking for a design concept in addition to standards in the context of usability certification? No problem at all! We will develop engineering dimensioning methods for you and your product. We are also happy to process the methods in the form of a software tool.
  • Preparation of concepts and testing plans
We will draw up a concept for demonstrating suitability in the context of obtaining usability certification (abZ or ZiE). We are by your side every step of the way.
