In order to assess the current condition of the structure, the Materials and Construction Physics division of MFPA Leipzig GmbH extracted and examined prestressing steel, grout and parts of the concrete covering the cladding tube from a bridge structure.
For a stress corrosion examination, prestressing steel is usually removed from structures for examination, if danger due to stress corrosion is suspected based on the stress corrosion guideline of the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development.
